Baildon 2nd XI reached the final of the Priestley Shield following a fine victory over holders Hanging Heaton. They will play Yeadon in the final on Sunday August 8th at Keighley CC. Please try and get along and support them on the big day.
Baildon 1st XI have been crowned 2009 Champions of the JCT600 Bradford League 1st Division for the first time since 1952.
In a further success the club had double sweep in the bowling averages with the spin duo of Mushtaq Ahmed and Jamie Abbott topping the 1st and 2nd XI Division for the 2009 season.
1st XI captain Ian Philliskirk featured in the batting averages whilst Craig Hitchenor and Andy Walker also claimed spots in the top 6 for the bowling award.
Darren Wilson and 2nd XI skipper Ross Todd claimed top ten spots in the 2nd XI batting averages with Tom Forster hot on their heels. Matthew Reed and Brett Kinsey also featured in the bowling averages, supporting winner Jamie Abbott.
The 2nd XI defeated the champions Pudsey St.Lawrence in their last game to secure a fine 5th place finish, just 3 points from 4th position and a rise of 5 places on last season.
The 3rd XI maintained their A Division status in the Dales Council League. Sadly the 4th XI slipped into relegation from B Division although the 5th XI were inspired to 2nd place and promotion from Divsion C under the captaincy of Don Butterfield.
